Workers are protected by legal minimum monthly wages. The boundaries are determined by law and vary by industry. The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare periodically reviews the minimum wage status for each industry.
For the offshore assembly sector the minimum hourly wage is US$0.63; US$0.65 in the industrial sector; and US$0.66 in the commercial and services sector. Minimum wages for the agricultural sector depend on the goods produced.
